What to wear during Spring in Korea

If you're from a tropical paradise and gearing up for a spring adventure in Korea, you're in for a delightful surprise. As a tropical person who has lived in Korea for years, I understand the need for the perfect spring wardrobe in a foreign land. Korea's spring is a magical transition from winter's chill to summer's warmth, and it demands a balance of comfort and style. In this article, we'll guide you through the essentials, from layering for the unpredictable weather to embracing the vibrant colors and fashion trends of the season.

Be sure to do the following before packing clothes for your trip:

  1. 1. Rather than just blindly dressing for the season, check the weather forecast for the dates of your trip and adjust your clothing accordingly (temperatures during the day may be very different from the temperatures at night). The wind or rain may affect how the temperature feels like.
  2. 2. Check the weather in the city you are visiting, Seoul is much colder than Busan.
  3. 3. Determine your tolerance to the cold, you might need more (or less) compared to other people. A german classmate was still very comfortable wearing tank tops while I was freezing at 17 degrees C.
  4. 4. Also compare the temperature difference between the city you are visiting and your home country
  5. 5. Bring some backup cash in case you need to buy warmer clothes
